I needed my Andersen French doors replaced (they were 30 years old and the outside was peeling away) and I ordered new doors from Andersen directly. Once they arrived, I had second thoughts about doing the work myself. I saw on Andersen's website that Good Guys Contracting was not only an authorized contractor, but, they are a premier contractor, so I called them. For starters, I've never hired a contractor as professional as Good Guys. They immediately started a Whatsapp chat with all of the people that would be involved. Mind you, this was just for the two door (just the doors) replacement, not even the whole frame, and they approached this as it was a important/lucrative job for them. (The price was fair, and was exactly what I thought it would cost). I've always had an issue with those doors as they didn't seem to align correctly. Alfonso and his crew arrived on time, and installed the doors correctly. The project took longer than estimated because the frame was not level, and they made sure it was before hanging the new doors. They now open and close like they designed to. They also took the old doors with them saving me the trouble of carrying them to the curb. I really appreciated that. I will absolutely be calling them for any other projects I need done, and having them do this job, I can see what Andersen rates them as a Premier Contractor.
I would highly recommend Good Guys Contracting. I needed my roof replaced and from initial quoting through final follow through their communication and transparency was impressive. They offered 2 options for my replacement roof that were both great options. There was no pressure picking between the Good and Better (pricier) option and they spent a great deal of time establishing both were warranteed and commanded the same amount of attention to detail when installing. When questions arose about installation, they addressed each one. We had an old satellite dish, antiquated sky lights and some problem spots we were concerned with and they took special attention to address these issues. When our time slot arrived we had a detailed walk-through the project, what to expect, reviewed costs, day of noise, measures they use to keep the property clean, potential added costs from plywood (if needed), warranty paperwork, who we would expect to see and how long the project would take. The project went off as described and took only 1 day. Throughout the process we were in communication via WhatsApp. They answered pop up questions, project updates, photos of the problem areas as they worked them and sent a synopsis video afterwards when they wrapped up the project. This I greatly appreciated, I felt I was in constant contact when it was most important and there was a conversation thread I could reference. Working with David, Theo, Brittany and Brogan was a pleasure. I would use their services in the future, should the need arise. I worked with David with other facets of the project, he provided me contacts for financing options and a painter, both of which I used and ended up very satisfied with.
Good Guys got it done the right way, the first time! The whole team had excellent communication with me through the whole project, always quick to answer any questions I had along the way. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The roofing crew did great work, and cleaned up the job site really well. Not much more I can ask for! We were looking to have our cedar shake replaced with Hardie Board and chose to go with Good Guys after researching installation options. We are very pleased with the results. From the start Good Guys communicated often and well. From the initial meet where we discussed the scope of the project to the delivery of materials, day to day updates and mid way and final walk throughs they listened to what we wanted, at times outlined options so we could make informed decisions and found solutions to ensure we would be happy with the outcome. It is an old house in need to TLC. Their crews are professional and leave the site as clean as is possible at the end of each day. A pleasure to work with. Alfonso was out project manager and our main contact once the project was underway and delivered everything as promised. We never thought we would not have cedar shake on the house. Cost and Maintenance caused us to change and we were very nervous about whether or not we would love it when it was done. I can't say enough that we do. Love the Hardie Board (they sent a rep to the job to inspect the installation) and the end result. We would have done this sooner if we knew how happy we would be with it. And would definitely use Good Guys again.
What an incredible experience! Job included demolition, carpentry, new Hardie siding, and roofing. Three structures with a tremendous amount of detail. I literally could not be happier with the results and experience. Every interaction with the office (Brogan)was perfect, in the field (Caro & Theo), they delivered on every aspect of the project, right down to each and every person that worked at the site- clean, quiet, respectful. No extra charges unless I asked for something extra (thanks Dave). I am actually a contractor myself and I was less picky than they are! Truly amazing. Thank you!!
