Our Bathroom came out amazing! There was a leak we couldn't find, and neither could any plumber; therefore decided to redo the entire tub area (where we all thought the leak was). While doing the demo, the guys were able to find our issue, which actually required additional work, replacing the entire floor not just the tub area. Changing the scope of work was relatively easy and all work was completed much quicker than anticipated. The guys who did our work were super friendly, professional and very insightful, always on time and not to mention they cleaned up the area at the end better than I expected. A "downside" which was not really a downside, was how quick the work started. We didn't expect to have them want to start a few days after signing the contract. We had to rush to accommodate getting payments, purchasing the tile, tub, and other needed items, and cleaning out the area as needed. Also, Communication with the project manager was good, everything worked out, but we are old fashioned and had a lot of questions. Calls would have been much easier. We did call, and got through to the manager every time we called, but it appeared communication was preferred via email, regardless if we asked him to call us. Sometimes we just had a lot of questions and emails made more questions. A decision was also made that we didn't know about, but they easily re did the work when we asked why the window was done in a certain manner that we didn't expect. We were originally told when getting a quote that we would have a walkthrough with the project manager, but he basically said "it's a simple project", not to mention we wouldn't need to be home for any of it. If I didn't take off day one, I am not certain this would have went as smooth as it did. I did have to answer many questions with the workers and the manager when he came on site that day. Maybe if we had the walkthrough communication would have felt better? Not sure. In the end everything was perfect, quickly done, clean, and leaked is fixed too!!! Dispite the bumps, I would not hesitate to have them do work in the future.
My house had sustained water damage from broken PVC on the second floor. The water leaked onto the first floor causing damage to my kitchen and living room area. I had called 3 home improvement companies to interview for the job. One company made an appointment and didn’t show one company showed and never followed up with an estimate. Kevin from Sumrick showed on time and presented a very through and professional inspection of the damage and followed up with a timely estimate for repairs. The work I contracted Sumrick to perform was not limited to repair of the water damage, but also included renovations that were not related to the water damage. The renovations on top of the water damage repair were removing an existing fireplace and mantle, rip up and replacement of new wood flooring, the removing of a wall and posts, the tiling of new fireplace, the installation of of hand made fireplace mantle, and interior painting. Each day of repair and renovation the workers were on time. All updates on steps either scheduled or completed were done on a portal that was an email between the company and myself. Each email was answered by both Kevin the owner and the office promptly. Kevin also assigned me with dealing with my homeowners insurance company, and submitted proof through a secondary inspection of the damage to my homeowners insurance that raised the amount I was originally issued by finding missteps and mistakes in the insurance companies adjusters report. My work was completed on time and with zero issues. Updates were provided on a daily basis and the entire experience with Sumrick was top shelf. I couldn’t be happier with not only the service provided but in the end with the quality of work that not only repaired the damage to make it appear nothing had ever occurred, but to expand the work to include much needed renovations. I have enclosed before and after pictures and would also like to note that Sumrick’s builders built my fireplace mantle off pictures I had found online and provided them.
