North Shore Construction Services is a company of carpenters who build homes with High Performance building technology in mind. Energy conservation, and healthy building practices to assure spaces that will perform and delight those that inhabit them.
We are a family company, with a combined 50+ years of construction & design experience.
With our focus on Passive House construction over the past several years, we have emerged as regional leaders in high performance green building, winning us an Ebie Award for Mamaroneck Passive house in 2013, bringing high energy performance and beautiful design to life. However we still stay rooted in our approach to “conventional” projects with the same emphasis on quality and care to create remodels and new buildings that got us started years ago.
This father and son team is incredible!!! We are currently in the process of starting a major renovation to our home and we are super thankful to have found North Shore Construction Services. When we initially met with Dave we knew he was the guy for us. His knowledge and professionalism goes above and beyond any other contractor we met with. We had a second meeting with Dave and his father and it sealed the deal for us. I would highly recommend North Shore Construction Services to anyone that is planning on a home renovation.
North Shore Construction Services was a pleasure to work with. Dave, the owner's son, responded promptly to my HomeAdvisor request for a quote to replace my basement stairs which were collapsing. While this was a small job compared to the projects North Shore Construction usually works on, Dave was very willing to take on the project. He came to the house the next day and submitted a very professional and reasonable proposal for the work required. Dave also made several suggestions during the negotiating process that were very helpful in selecting the most effective methods and materials to replace the stairs without exploding the budget we had in mind. The job was completed on time and within the budget we had agreed to. Dave and his crew did an excellent job and left the basement cleaner than it was when they began. I would not hesitate to use North Shore Construction Services for future projects as they arise.
Home owners and subcontractors beware of this company. Home owners, make sure they follow through with payments made to the subcontractors or you can be at risk of having a lein placed on your home. Our company was contracted by them to do work and even after over a year and constantly trying to reach them, have not fulfilled payment for work completed. Home owner paid in full but North Shore did not finish paying us. The home owner was 100% percent satisfied with our work and therefore see no reason as to hold payment from us. Excuses like “there’s no money” “ we don’t have permits and can’t get work” “ it’s hard because of the pandemic” were used. We are a also a struggling small business but never fail to pay those we contract for service.
Exhausting, unresponsive and after 11 months the work is still incomplete! I don't even know where to begin. The two biggest issues is that he won't finish our job and although we signed a contract and (stupidly) paid him, he begged us to go over the cost because of inflation even though HE delayed the job by nearly 5 months (the amount of times he said "we'll start in the next week or so") is obscene. Hoping to get him to finish the job (another exhausting task) and out of pressure from him (honestly, it feels like extortion), we ended up spending more money than his contract asked. That was weeks ago and he will not set a date to put our siding up (despite knowing that birds have come into our house through holes in the exposed wood). There is a bunch of other important items that he has left unfinished as well. For example, it's hard to live in a bedroom without a closet, right? Oh, and let's not forget the living room window that an employee broke 4 months ago that he has yet to replace.
Contractor Dominick is professional, friendly and genuine. He works within your budget and doesn't look to inflate the costs. He delivers what he promises and is upfront about the costs. He didn't try to sell more than necessary. He is most trustworthy for doing quality work.
